The Perfect Pairing: Miley Cyrus & A Juicy Cheeseburger

TMZ reported: Miley Cyrus was spotted on several occasions smoking what seemed to be the ganja. Miley has gone on record a few times to say that she is not smoking marijuana, but smoking salvia & cigarettes instead. However, with these recent pictures surfacing I don’t think there is anyway to deny that Miley is a fan of MaryJane.

THE PERFECT PAIRING: MILEY CYRUS & A JUICY CHEESEBURGER

This pairing came to me for some obvious & some not so obvious reasons. First, being that Miley will no doubtedly get the munchies after she tokes up & what isn’t better than a big ol’ juicy cheeseburger…am I right? And we know that she is from the country, where they love their animal based foods like red meat & cheese. But I also thought they were a perfect pair because they both have a lot of layers to them. Miley has been in the media right now for a lot of different reasons. From her relationship to Liam Hemsworth, to her twerk video, her new album is about to be released, and now these photos surfacing, I just think that Miley has a lot on her plate. But I do respect her and think that she has also done a great job in layering all these different aspects in her life well, just like the person who created the cheeseburger. You have the grains, vegetables, meat, & dairy. So not only do Miley & cheeseburgers relate to eachother, but they also go so well together!

Recipe Box: The Naked Vegetable Dinner

NY Daily News reported: Allure magazine’s upcoming issue is all about looking better naked! And they got some pretty big names to strip down for the cameras… “Glee’s Naya Rivera, “Nashville” star Clare Bowen, and “Cougar Town” actress Christa Miller, just to name a few.

This means bathing suits, short shorts, & trying to slim down & tone up as best you can. Allure magazine only sets this season in stone with their “Look Better Naked” issue. It seems like every woman is focused on getting that toned beachbod. But as a woman who has struggled with body issues her entire life, I refused to let this summer get me down! In my last post I talked briefly about the Paleo Diet & my attempt at making a life change when it came to my diet. I did it NOT to lose weight, but just to be healthier & do things the right way for once. I just wanted to prove to myself that I can stick to something. It has been a week… but to my surprise these 7 days have flown by! I have been able to express myself through my food & be creative with what I make. I want to go into this bathing suit season happy & loving the body I have, just like the women that are featured in the “Look Better Naked” issue. So I was inspired to create a Paleo friendly meal that is guaranteed to make your body & tummy very happy! I call it The Naked Vegetable Dinner. (VIEW DETAILED RECIPE BELOW)

IMG_3376 The Naked Vegetable Dinner: I am a huge fan of pasta, cheese, red meat, basically anything that will clog my arteries & stop my heart. Any of my friends will tell you that I am either always eating or have the appetite of 3 sumo wrestlers after a competition…in case that made no sense I CAN EAT! And eat I do… I was blessed enough to be born with a fast metabolism. But with that came very poor diet choices, & now that my metabolism is catching up to me I am forced to make a change. I went in for an annual check up with my doctor last year & he told me that as a 21 year old, fairly skinny girl I had the cholesterol of a 65 year old man. Like I have said this paleo diet is for health reasons, but as a true foodie & lover of all things delicious I want to create recipes that are absolutely tasty, but still healthy. And after seeing some of the bodies in this Allure issue, it only motivated me more to stick with it!

As a lover of meat, I will be the first to tell you that I am skeptical of vegetarian dishes. I think that is why I was interested in the Paleo diet so much because you could eat meat. However, the asparagus in this dish has the texture and taste of smoky, delicious meat, without actually having to kill an animal! My second favorite food would be pasta… I just love my carbs! And that was the most difficult thing about this diet, NO PROCESSED of GLUTEN. So I was in search for a substitute that still had the same consistency, taste… & not only is spinach an amazing pasta substitute, I think it might even be better tasting then pasta! This meal is simple & easy, plus you won’t have to feel bad about having two servings! I encourage making this dinner in your best outfit, your birthday suit of course! 

Ingredients:

IMG_3375 1 bunch of asparagus
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

IMG_3379 1 carton of grape tomatoes
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 bag of spinach
1 teaspoon of grated parmesan cheese

IMG_3373Directions:

1. Mix into a bowl the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices

2. Wash asparagus & lay on baking sheet, then spread oil mixture all over asparagus

3. Stick in 375 degree oven & broil for 15 minutes

4. Boil spinach in salt water for 5 minutes

5. Add grape tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, & oil into pot. Then let reduce.

6. Drain spinach & add sauce on top. Sprinkle parmesan cheese & serve.

Recipe Box: Jessica Alba I Want Your Bod Breakfast

Jessica Alba was recently photographed vacationing off the coast of St. Barths. It has been a while since we have seen Jessica out in public & did she make a statement! The gorgeous actress strutted her perfectly toned body out in the water like it was her job. You would never believe this woman is a mom! If you aren’t drooling yet here are a few more pictures to drench your pallette.

Image Jessica Alba I Want Your Bod: So like I said after drooling for a good twenty minutes at these photos of Jessica, I instantly wanted to get back into shape & make a change in my diet & fitness plan! I began researching certain healthy diet changes online. I came across “The Clean Diet” & “The Master Cleanse”, but the diet that really stuck out to me was “The Paleo Diet” also known as “The Hunter-Gatherer Diet.” This diet focuses on eating natural foods & going back to the dietary choices of the hunter gatherers. This means that all foods you must eat should be in its purest form, consisting of 3 natural ingredients or less. This means a lot of vegetables, fruits, lean meats. NO added sugar, salt, oils, or anything that consists of multiple ingredients. This immediately caught my attention! Also because after further reading, I found that this diet has been recommended to people suffering with diseases like cancer, diabetes, etc. Because making these simple diet choices can benefit your overall longterm health. So I decided to make a change…we will see how long this lasts. So in the hopes to get a Jessica Alba beach bod I created my first Paleo recipe. I thought I would start with breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day! This recipe is not only simple, but makes you just feel so much better after eating it. There is something about eating something healthy & having it affect how you feel for the rest of the day! 

Ingredients:

Image4 egg whites
1 cup of spinach
1 tablespoon of feta cheese
non stick canola oil spray
1 apple

Directions:

Image1. Set a pan on the stove & heat to medium

2. Spray some non-stick canola oil onto the pan

3. Pour egg whites into pan (cooking time approx. 4 mins)

4. After eggs are cooked add in spinach & feta cheese

5. Cut up apple & enjoy!

Image If that wasn’t the simplest freshly made breakfast recipe than I don’t know what is! And the amazing thing is that it is so flavorful & filling. You get the freshness from the spinach, but the tartiness from the cheese & both are combined with the fluffy egg whites. Then the apple for added crunch. So I do feel like I am starting off this Paleo diet strong and I will be sure to update recipes & let you know my progress!
